Pictalab’s latest collaboration is a journey through time and culture, where design becomes a vessel for stories shaped by women, history, and imagination. The first chapter of their new collection, Il Viaggio delle Imperatrici: Bringing Stories to Life Through Design, created with Nathalie and Virginie Droulers, is set in 16th-century China. After Laverne reimagines painter Xu Yang’s depiction of Emperor Qianlong’s journey through the southern provinces. Inspired by ancient civilizations, the design evokes the look of engraving, with a vivid landscape and characters subtly hidden within the scene.

Next is Emilie, set in 19th-century Vienna and inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt. Named after Klimt’s muse, the collection features geometric compositions with refined minimalism and rich, tactile texture.
