Beginning with a 2018 collaboration with a material scientist, Kajsa Willner’s Polarized Portraits explores how bending, blocking, and transforming light can reveal colorful stress patterns in clear plastic, turning an everyday material into expressive wall lights and lamps.

Commissioned by RIMOWA in 2021 for As Seen By, an exhibition at Galerie 3537 in Paris, Mr. Strictly & Little Monster follows two imaginative travelers on their first journey together. Using polarized light to reveal colorful stress patterns in plastic, alongside reflective aluminum that mirrors its surroundings, Kajsa explores how light shapes our perception of the world. The work celebrates travel as more than a physical journey, opening paths to discovery through art, science, and the unexpected friendships that bring new perspectives.
