In her Polarized Portraits series, Kajsa Willner uses polarized light to reveal colorful patterns hidden within clear plastic. By manipulating light through polarizing filters, she makes internal stresses and imperfections visible, transforming discarded materials into vibrant lamps and wall lights. The concept grew from What Matter_s, a collaboration with a material scientist presented at Dutch Design Week in 2018. Titled I SEE, the series explores the difference between seeing and understanding, revealing what often goes unnoticed.
